The local festival, named Porcinkula, attracts more and more visitors year by year. The festival is an exciting mixture of a fair of traditional goods, dance shows and concerts. It takes place at the heart of the city, around the castle.

Baroque Festival

The festival offers high standard programs on the following four fields of art: music, fine-arts, dancing and theatre. Amongst the local talents international artists also appear. The aim of the organizers was to use the unique natural facilities of the city to present and assist these cultural treasures.

Great Fishery at Old Lake

On this popular event, You can see a unique kind of fishery, where the fishermen of Tata use a 400 meters long fishnet. This special program is combined with a gastronomic show, where You can taste the full variety of Hungarian fish-food. You can also have a good wiew of the environmental projects and knowledge related to the Old Lake.

Tatai Vadlúd Sokadalom – Wild Goose Watching at Old Lake

In autumn at the shore of the Old Lake a marvellous spectacle can be seen. This is the only lake in Europe that is totally surrounded by a town and yet serves as a resting-place for waterfowls. Especially wild geese turn out in force. Many international and local naturalists travel to Tata to see the birds. This is not a loud festival with endless concerts and fare cavalcade, but a real ceremony. A festival on its’ own way, where people are the guests and birds are the entertainers.
